Internships

Internships provide students with an introduction to the business world, as well as a way to help finance their education. CMU's College of Business has coordinators that work with students to show them which internships are out there, which ones they are best suited for, and most importantly, what needs to be done to land the internship. Internships are extremely beneficial as professional experiences, because it gives students a chance to preview a future career interest and gain professional experience in that career while giving students a chance to earn money for tuition or living expenses.
At your internship, you will be fine-tuning the skills necessary for future employment opportunities, such as communication, networking, adaptability, responsibility and discipline, before graduating. An internship can also indicate to a student that they might not want to go into the career they had been planning for, which is a good thing to find out before finishing school and being forced into a job that you have no interest in making a career. In most cases however, internships will serve students by giving them a concrete idea of what they need to be prepared for upon graduating. At CMU's College of Business
Administration, we are dedicated to providing the smoothest possible transition from freshman to experienced business professional.
